There’s an epic solar eclipse coming your way on Aug. 21, and Krispy Kreme is celebrating in a big way. According to Instagram user candyhunting, Krispy Kreme will sell a chocolate version of its Original Glazed doughnut for the first time ever while the famed Hot Light shines on Aug. 19 and 20 and then all day Monday, Aug. 21, the day of the eclipse.
This total solar eclipse is being called the biggest solar eclipse in your lifetime — the last one visible across the US was in 1918 — and we appreciate that Krispy Kreme is matching the significance with an equally exciting development of its menu. While Krispy Kreme’s chocolate glazed doughnuts are a longtime staple on the menu, never before has the company offered a chocolate version of its most popular doughnut, the Original Glazed, and it looks like every chocoholic’s dream. Krispy Kreme has confirmed this news, so mark your calendars, because you don’t want to miss the eclipse or the doughnuts!
