Trump. Stone also served as Chairman of Donald Trump’s Presidential Exploratory Committee in 2000 and as a Strategic Consultant in 2012.
Stone’s alleged ties to WikiLeaks while he communicated with Trump’s campaign came under scrutiny in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into possible collusion between Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and Russia.
A central figure in the Russia probe, Stone was charged by Mueller in January with lying to Congress, obstructing justice and witness tampering. He has pled not guilty and is currently awaiting trial.
