The Broward League of Cities, an organization representing Broward County’s 31 municipal governments and more than 125 associate members, installed Cooper City Mayor Greg Ross as its new president during a ceremony on May 7 at the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort.

Mayor Ross shared his vision of “Connect ONE Broward,” which links Broward County’s
31 cities with each other, with the County and with the state of Florida. “As elected officials, Broward League members all follow the ‘3 Cs’ — Collaboration, Cooperation and Communication. This coming year, we are adding a 4th C – ‘Connecting,’” said Ross. “By connecting, we become involved. We learn from each other, we create opportunities, we overcome barriers and we accomplish much more than we can individually.”

Broward County Mayor Martin Kiar and City of Cooper City Commissioner Jamie Curran each read a proclamation declaring May 7, 2016 as Greg Ross Day.

Ross follows Deputy Vice Mayor David Rosenof as League president. Rosenof was recognized for his leadership of “Building ONE Broward,” an initiative that identified ways to make development easier by streamlining permitting, and encouraging all cities to earn Platinum City designation through the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance. After he was honored, he presented the League’s 2016 President’s Award to Jack Benning of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance.

Faith Based Events

Platinum participants for the installation dinner included City of Cooper City, Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Waste Management and Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman.
