Cool Morning, Then Plenty of Sun

Wednesday features a cool morning, followed by plenty of sun, some clouds,  and periods of showers in the East Coast metro area and lots of sun along the Gulf Coast and the Keys.  The Gulf Coast will see a gusty breeze.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents at Gulf and Atlantic beaches.  Highs on Wednesdays will be mainly in the low-80s on the mainland and near 80 degrees in the Keys.

Thursday will bring morning lows in the 60s on the mainland.  Then look for sunny skies around South Florida.  Thursday’s highs will be in the low-80s on the mainland and near 80 degrees in the Keys.

Friday will feature lots of sun and maybe a cloud or two on the mainland.  Look for mostly sunny skies in the Keys.  Friday’s highs will be in the mid-80s in the East Coast metro area, in the low-80s along the Gulf Coast, and near 80 degrees in the Keys.

Saturday morning lows will be in the 60s on the mainland.  Then look for lots of sun around South Florida.  The Gulf Coast will be breezy as a front moves in.  Saturday’s highs will be mostly in the low-80s in the East Coast metro area and the upper-70s along the Gulf Coast and the Keys.

Sunday’s forecast calls for chilly morning lows in the upper-50s on the mainland.  The day will see lots of sun and maybe a cloud at times.  Highs on Sunday will be in the low-80s in the East Coast metro area and the upper-70s along the Gulf Coast and the Keys.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
