Chilly Start, Then Lots of Sun

Wednesday features a chilly start, followed by lots of sun.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches, especially along the Palm Beach County coast.  Highs on Wednesday will be in the upper-70s on the Atlantic coast and the Keys, while the rest of South Florida will see highs in the low-80s.

Thursday will bring morning lows in the low-60s on the mainland.  Then look for plenty of sun, a few clouds in spots, and a brisk and gusty breeze along the Gulf Coast as a weak front approaches.  Thursday’s highs will be mostly in the mid-80s in the East Coast metro area and the upper-70s along the Gulf Coast and the Keys.

Friday will feature another chilly morning, with lows in the 50s on the mainland.  Then look for sunny skies and unseasonably cool afternoon temperatures.  Friday’s highs will be in the mid-70s on the mainland and the low-70s in the Keys.

Saturday morning will be on the chilly side, with lows ranging from the mid-50s to the low-60s on the mainland.  The day will see plenty of sun and a few clouds.  Saturday’s highs will be in the low-80s in the East Coast metro area and the upper-70s along the Gulf Coast and the Keys.

Sunday’s forecast calls for another unseasonably cool morning, with lows in the upper-50s to low-60s on the mainland.  Then look for mostly sunny skies and a warmup.  Highs on Sunday will be mostly in the low-80s on the mainland and the upper-70s in the Keys.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
