Coming in at a whopping $159 million price tag, Le Palais Royal is a mansion so large and luxurious that Hillsboro officials can’t wait for it’s completion!

Broward County Property Appraiser Lori Parrish estimates that the Le Palais Royal will be 100 percent complete by this upcoming January. For now, the final embellishments are being made on its Versailles-like construction.

“It’s very impressive,” she said. “The guard dogs even have their own accommodations. The commission will be happy to see it on the tax rolls.”

Now that’s an understatement.

Le Palais Royal is the second most expensive residential real estate listing in the country.

According to the Town Manager of Hillsboro, Robert Kellogg, the Le Palais Royal is so extravagant by itself that its completion will create an almost 10 percent increase in the town’s property valuation.

The house’s tax bill is expected to top $300,000!

Construction on the 11-bedroom and 17-bathroom mansion began in 2010 along a $10 million five acre plot that harbors over 500 gorgeous feet of oceanfront property.

Hillsboro Town officials toured the mansion last month, and they were stunned at its IMAX theater, its 27-foot waterfall, and its underground parking garage and a host of  other luxuries:

— an underground garage with room for 30 cars

— an ice skating rink, go-cart track, bowling club and nightclub

— a 492-foot private dock that can accommodate a 200-foot-yacht

— a gold-covered fence around the property and $3 million worth of gold leaves to cover columns and walls and door frames

— a $2 million marble staircase

— an 18-seat, 50-foot-wide IMAX theater

— the property covers 4.4 acres with nearly 500 feet of beach

— two guesthouses with 3,000 square feet each
