To help his fans celebrate the milestone 40th anniversary of the classic film Smokey and the Bandit (the second-highest box-office draw of 1977), Burt Reynolds has teamed up with Dream Giveaway Garage on behalf of New Beginning Children’s Homes to give away a fully restored 1977 Pontiac Trans Am Special Edition, aka “The Bandit.”

Reynolds, a Hollywood legend, is well known for his starring role of Bo “Bandit” Darville in Smokey and the Bandit, which debuted in theaters in 1977 and is loved by millions of fans to this day.

This national sweepstakes ends on August 29, 2017, which leaves barely over two months for consumers to enter.

The Trans Am is on display at two events this month: the Smokey and the Bandit 40th Anniversary Festival in Jonesboro, Georgia, June 23-24, 2017, and The Bandit Jump at Atlanta Motor Speedway, June 24, 2017. Donations of $100 or more to help the missions of seven non-profit charities—including MADD, DAV, National Guard Educational Foundation and others—will receive an autographed photo of Mr. Reynolds, while supplies last. At both events, attendees can take “selfies” standing next to a life-size image of Reynolds and the grand-prize Trans Am.

Faith Based Events

“I know what an important part the movie Smokey and the Bandit has played in the lives of so many of my fans,” says Reynolds. “Certainly, the Trans Am being offered in the Bandit Dream Giveaway brings back great memories for me. I would love for one of my fans to be able to make those same type of memories driving this beautiful car.”

The grand-prize winner will also receive a Stetson hat worn and autographed by Reynolds and the autographed, laminated original window sticker to the vehicle.

This 1977 Trans Am Special Edition (S/E) chosen by Reynolds for this promotion is a spitting image of the Trans Ams used in Smokey and the Bandit filming. It features a 6.6-liter Pontiac V-8 engine.

The winner will be flown to Clearwater, Florida, to accept the grand-prize in a ceremony tentatively scheduled for September 29, 2017.
