BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Broward Mayor Marty Kiar spread the good news today about Tuesday’s Angels, a non-profit organization assisting those with HIV/AIDS.

“This group seldom receives recognition for the work they’ve been doing for more than twenty years now.  Every penny raised by Tuesday’s Angels is spent on services for those living with HIV/AIDS.  All other expenses are paid for by board members or from income earned,” said Mayor Kiar.

Tuesday’s Angels provides emergency assistance to men, women and children with HIV/AIDS in Broward County.  The organization also provides grants to various agencies providing care for those with HIV/AIDS.  Over the years, Tuesday’s Angels has distributed more than $2.2 million to thousands of people in need of services.  Current grants include bus passes to Broward House and Care Resources and Camp Hope for children with HIV/AIDs through the Childrens’ Diagnostic and Treatment Center.

The Broward Good News initiative brings good news to the public by highlighting the successes of the County, residents, small businesses, good Samaritans and other events that result in a positive outcome for Broward residents and visitors.  Broward Good News recognitions take place on Tuesday during regularly scheduled Commission meetings beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Faith Based Events
