Sun ReturnsSouth Florida’s Sunday will start with morning showers, but then the sun will return. The day begins with rounds of showers and a few storms on the breeze throughout the morning. Then we’ll see sun and a few clouds in the afternoon as a bit of drier air moves in. The risk of dangerous rip currents will remain high at the Atlantic beaches, and we could see minor coastal flooding at high tides on Sunday. Sunday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.

Monday will bring sun, some clouds, and periods of showers on a brisk breeze. Highs on Monday will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Clouds, showers, and storms are around on Tuesday as a front moves in. Tuesday’s highs will be in the mid 80s.

Wednesday’s forecast includes some sun, some clouds, and passing showers on a building breeze. Highs on Wednesday will be near 80 degrees.

Faith Based Events

Thursday features plenty of sun as we finally get a taste of autumn. Thursday’s highs will be mostly in the upper 70s.

The tropics remain quiet.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
