Breezy, Warm Weather Continues

warm weatherSouth Florida wraps up the month of February with breezy and warm weather. After a warm morning with patchy fog in spots and some passing showers, Tuesday features some sun, clouds and scattered showers on the breeze, and highs in the low to mid 80s. The ocean breeze will keep the risk of dangerous rip currents at high levels at the Atlantic beaches on Tuesday.

warm weatherWednesday will begin with a warm morning and some fog in spots. The first day of March will then feature diminishing breezes, a mix of sun and clouds, a few showers, and highs in the mid 80s.

Thursday will bring a weak front into the area late in the day. But mostly Thursday will feature a mix of sun and clouds, a shower or two in spots, and highs in the mid 80s.

Friday will see temperatures at more seasonable levels, with morning lows in the mid to upper 60s and highs near 80 degrees. Friday will also feature passing showers at times, along with a mix of sun and clouds.

Faith Based Events

Saturday will be cloudy, and showers will blow in on the breeze. Highs on Saturday will top out in the upper 70s.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
