Breezy and Mostly Sunny on Sunday

South Florida will be breezy and mostly sunny on Sunday, after a weak front clears the area.

mostly sunnySome clouds and a few early coastal showers will give way to a building northeast breeze, a high risk of dangerous rip currents (which will last through midweek), and highs near 80 degrees.

Monday morning lows will be in the seasonable 60s, and the day will be breezy, with highs in the upper 70s.

Tuesday will be a bit warmer, with highs near 80 degrees, and the breeze will continue.

Faith Based Events

We’ll see another breezy day on Wednesday, as afternoon highs reach the low 80s.

Thursday and Friday will be windy and warm, with passing showers and highs in the low to mid 80s in the forecast.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
