Billionaire hedge fund manager Tom Steyer wants to change America, mainly by dumping President Donald Trump and the Republican congressional majority.
To this end, Steyer formed NextGen America to push for combating climate change and furthering immigrant rights, affordable health care and a wish list of other goals sought by progressives.
Steyer has pledged to spend $30 million to pump up the youth vote in this year’s election in key states. He and his wife Kathryn have spent $16 million so far in the 2018 election cycle.
On Tuesday, Steyer is scheduled to bring his battle for progressive views to Fort Lauderdale. He will help a like-minded group For Our Future Florida open a Broward field office. He will be joined by Democratic State Reps. Jared Moskowitz of Coral Springs and Joseph Geller of Aventura.
In addition to the Broward office, FOFF is opening other offices across the state.
