Baseball Returns To The Palm Beaches; Nationals Beat Astros 4-3 (Video)

baseballMajor League Baseball has officially arrived at the new Ballpark of the Palm Beaches. The new West Palm Beach spring training facility home of the Washington Nationals and the Houston Astros debuted today under sunny South Florida skies. Construction crews worked around the clock to ready the new 150 million dollar ballpark for today’s opening game.

There were people there to help you find your seats, programs, whatever you needed..

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred along with Washington National owners Ted and Annette Lerner and Houston Astros owner Jim Crane were joined on the field by Palm Beach County and West Palm Beach officials in cutting the ribbon and then it was “Play Ball”!

Faith Based Events

The West Palm Beach Color Guard and a ribbon cutting ceremony along with the singing of the National Anthem led to the first pitch.

Today’s inaugural game filled the twenty year vacancy after Braves and Expos left West Palm Beach without a spring training team.

The Nationals won today’s opener 4 to 3.
