Carlos Reyes and Carla Spalding – along with Joe Kaufman – are running for the Republican nomination to challenge Wasserman Schultz and Independent candidate Tim Canova in November for the Broward/Miami-Dade County 23rd Congressional District seat.
Hosted by Galuppi’s Restaurant in Pompano Beach, a three-course dinner will be served. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. – meeting starts promptly at 6:30. Mandatory RSVP is required – tickets are $30.00.
“Our mission at Americans for Trump – Broward is electing candidates who support Donald Trump and his policies,” Scott Newmark told South Florida Reporter. “And that doesn’t mean all Republicans.”
In deeply Democratic Broward County, Trump won 31.4 percent of the popular vote in 2016, while winning 49 percent statewide; 1.2 percentage points ahead of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Debbie Wasserman Schultz was first sworn to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2005, having previously served in both the Florida House and Senate.
