Potamkin Automotive Group’s Alan Potamkin has just sold his extraordinary Coral Gables mansion for $44 million in the county’s biggest real estate deal this year.
Still, he and his wife Brigitt Rok didn’t get as much as they wanted.
The property and the lot next to it were initially bundled together and listed for $67 million. If they’d sold together they would have handily broken the record for the county’s most expensive sale.
Instead, last year he split the two properties and re-listed the house for $49 million.
Even though the $43.7 million he got from an unknown buyer for the sale of 1 Casuarina Concourse was less than the asking price, it wasn’t too shabby considering he bought the property for $2 million back in 1987.
