By Donna Thomas, SouthFloridaReporter.com Meteorologist, July 19, 2015 – South Florida will see fewer storms and more periods of hot sun on Sunday. After a few early morning showers, especially in the Lower Keys, look for plenty of sun, fewer clouds (thanks to some Saharan dust), highs in the low 90s, and storms forming well inland during the afternoon.
Monday and Tuesday will bring a few afternoon storms, mostly to the western suburbs, and highs will reach the low 90s.
Our winds shift to the southwest on Wednesday, increasing storm chances over South Florida, and that pattern will continue through the workweek. But models indicate that moisture levels won’t be very high, limiting the periods of heavy rain we’ll need to end our drought. Highs will remain in the low 90s.
