Prime Fall Weekend: Peak Foliage and Crisp Skies Align Across the Great Lakes and Northeast

Grab your flannels, pick out a pumpkin, and get ready to soak up the sights of fall! The Great Lakes and Northeast are shaping up to be prime destinations for autumn adventures this weekend, with vibrant foliage and favorable weather for pumpkin picking.

AccuWeather expert meteorologists say some of the best opportunities to enjoy both activities will be across the Great Lakes, Pennsylvania, upstate New York and parts of New England, where fall colors will put on a spectacular show.

“This is one of those weekends when the weather and the fall colors come together at just the right time,” said AccuWeather expert meteorologist Dan Pyndynowski. “It’s not every weekend that you get vibrant foliage and favorable conditions for outdoor activities across so much of the Great Lakes and Northeast. For people hoping to enjoy the best of autumn, this is a great opportunity.”

With some northern locations already moving past peak foliage, this weekend could be one of the last opportunities to catch the season’s brightest colors before the autumn display shifts farther south.
