More than 62,000 pounds of fully-cooked chicken products shipped to restaurants nationwide have been recalled, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Friday. The recall has been given a Class I risk level—the highest classification—for containing soy, a known allergen that was not included on the label.
How to Identify the Recalled Chicken
Suzanna’s Kitchen, an establishment in Georgia, recalled lots of its fully cooked, bone-in, breaded chicken products.
The recalled chicken products have the following information:
- 18-lb cases containing four units of “FULLY COOKED BREADED CHICKEN PORTIONS,” with case code “P-1380 126237 B30851 23:11 K04” printed on the side of the package.
The recalled chicken pieces were distributed to restaurants across the country,
What You Should Do
No illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled chicken products.
It’s also unlikely consumers have any recalled chicken products on hand, but the FSIS is concerned that some products may still be in restaurant freezers or refrigerators. Any affected chicken should be thrown away immediately and not served.
People with questions about the recall may contact Suzanna’s Kitchen’s customer service at dduncan@suzannaskitchen.com.
Additionally, consumers with general food safety questions can call the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 888-MPHotline (888-674-6854) or send a question via email to MPHotline@usda.gov.
