What was Tropical Depression # 7 became Tropical Storm Gabrielle late Wednesday morning.
At 11 am, Gabrielle was about 1085 miles east of the northern Leeward Island and was moving north-northwest at a rapid 22 miles per hour. Maximum sustained winds were 45 miles per hour.
Gabrielle is forecast to become a hurricane this weekend. While Gabrielle’s future track should keep it well east of the Bahamas, it could be a threat to Bermuda early next week.
