Sunday features a mix of sun and clouds with plenty of showers and storms that will hang around into the evening.  Heavy rain is possible in spots.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches.  Highs on Sunday will be in the upper 80s right at the Atlantic coast and in the low 90s elsewhere in South Florida.

Monday will bring mostly sunny skies with mainly afternoon and evening showers and storms.  Monday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

Tuesday will feature some sun and more clouds with periods of showers and storms in the East Coast metro area.  The Gulf Coast will be mostly sunny with plenty of afternoon and evening showers and storms.  Tuesday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

Wednesday will see hot sun and a few storms in the morning, followed by periods of showers and storms in the afternoon.  Some of those storms could linger into the early evening along the Gulf Coast.  Wednesday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

Faith Based Events

Thursday’s forecast calls for a mix of sun and clouds alternating with showers and storms.  Highs on Thursday will be in the low 90s again.

It remains quiet in the tropical Atlantic.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
