South Florida is waiting for the season’s first cold front, and it’s on the way this weekend. In the meantime, Tuesday features plenty of sun, a few clouds and some east coast showers on the breeze, along with highs in the mid to upper 80s. The high risk of dangerous rip currents continues at the Atlantic beaches into Friday. The coast flood advisory remains in place along the east coast through Wednesday morning, so low-lying areas can expect more tidal flooding.
Wednesday will be breezy again, with a few passing showers in Miami-Dade and Broward, mostly sunny conditions along the Gulf coast, and highs mostly in the mid 80s.
Look for some showers and an isolated storm or two in Miami-Dade and Broward on Thursday. Thursday’s highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.
Friday features sun and clouds, a few passing showers and isolated storms, and highs in the mid 80s.
The front moves in overnight, and Saturday features sun and clouds, a few quick showers, and highs in the low to mid 80s.
Sunday morning temperatures will be mostly in the upper 60s — a nice change.
In the tropics, we’re watching an area of disturbed weather near the southeastern Bahamas that has a high chance of developing into a depression — but will remain well to our east until it’s pushed to the northeast by the cold front that will reach us this weekend. Elsewhere, Nicole has finally become extra-tropical and is racing to the north-northeast at 31 miles per hour.
