BOCA RATON — Only in Boca Raton, kids: A mosque with historic ties to radical Islam and terrorism has been added on the list of polling places for the upcoming presidential elections, despite the high number of Jewish voters in the area!
According to the website of the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections, the Islamic Center of Boca Raton on NW 5th Avenue is where several thousand people from the area just east of Boca Raton Airport are being invited to vote.
Problem is, Gossip Extra is told, few voters are willing to go!
Dozens of members of the public who found out about the new polling place have been calling the Supervisor of Elections Susan Bucher‘s office to complain, Gossip Extra has learned, and Bucher is said to be reconsidering the use of the house of worship for the Nov. 8 presidential vote.
Bucher, a Democrat, has not returned our calls for comment and has yet to respond to emails asking her how she possibly could approve the mosque, which has been criticized for its anti-Jewish rhetoric and pro-Hamas stance.
While many churches throughout the city are polling places, the Islamic Center didn’t come without controversy when it opened in 2009.
