By Donna Thomas, SouthFloridaReporter.com Meteorologist, July 24, 2015 –
South Florida will see plenty of storms this weekend, starting on Friday. After a mostly dry morning on the mainland but heavy showers and storms in the Keys, look for sweltering heat with highs in the low to mid 90s, followed by passing storms by mid afternoon. Some storms could last into the early evening, and periods of heavy downpours and dangerous lightning are possible with any of them.
More storms will develop on Saturday, and periods of heavy rain and some localized flooding are possible. Saturday’s highs will be in the low 90s.
Sunday will be cloudy and stormy, with heavy downpours and localized flooding likely. Highs will be around 90 degrees.
Afternoon storms and periods of heavy rain remain in the forecast from Monday through Wednesday, along with highs in the sticky low 90s.
