5 Things To Know That Are Happening Today

It’s a busy day around the country today, so we’ve put together this short list of what’s happening.

President Obama visits Dallas

President Obama will visit the families of the slain Dallas police officers today. he will be joined by former President George W. Bush. The two will later address an interfaith memorial in Dallas. VP Joe Biden and Laura Bush will also attend.

Secretary Lynch to be questioned

Today Attorney General Loretta Lynch will be in the hot seat testifying before the House Judiciary Committee. Lawmakers will be grilling her about Hillary Clinton’s emails and her meeting with former President Bill Clinton. It is expected that Lynch will also be questioned about gun violence and police shootings.

Clinton and Sanders together

Hillary Clinton will be joined by Bernie Sanders at a rally in New Hampshire later this morning. Sanders is expected to finally end the long wait and endorse Clinton as the Democratic candidate for president.

Starbucks raising drink prices

It’s going to cost you more for that Starbucks drink beginning today. In a news release from Starbucks this morning: “On July 12, Starbucks made a small price adjustment in U.S. company-operated stores. Depending on the market, customers will experience increases of 10 to 20 cents on select sizes of brewed coffee to have, and 10 to 30 cents on espresso beverages and tea lattes. We expect the average customer ticket to increase by about one percent as a result of these beverage adjustments, however, 65 percent of beverage prices have not changed.”

Today Amazon Prime members get to spend a lot and save a lot as Amazon holds a one day sale for Prime Members only. USAToday says many retailers are fighting back by holding special sales today too. They equate this to the new Black Friday, Cyber Monday and other special sale days
