
Leadership Broward honored five Broward County business and community leaders during the 2019 Profiles in Leadership Black-Tie Ball presented by The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. The Black-Tie Ball raised $165,000 for leadership programming and initiatives for the non-profit organization.
Recognized for their talent and resources in helping to make Broward County a great place to live and work were: Kathleen Cannon, LCSW, president and CEO of United Way; Aurelio M. Fernandez III, FACHE, president and CEO of Memorial Healthcare System; Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises; and O.J. McDuffie, co-founder and board chairman of the O.J. McDuffie Cath 81 Foundation.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Sherry Friedlander, founder of A Child is Missing, Inc. (ACIM), and the Excellence in Corporate Leadership Award was presented to JetBlue®.
The black-tie gala was emceed by NBC 6 anchor Kristin Sanchez and was co-chaired by: Brandon Hensler, Nova Southeastern University; Patty Sacco, community activist; Cindy Schutt, Cindy Schutt PR; and Katie Torres, Cato Insurance Group. Committee members were Mary Adams, Beverly Clampett, Suzie King, Pam Masters, Debbie Savage, Lori Smith-Lalla and Carole Tolomeo.
