The World’s First Floating Pickleball Court Makes A Splash In Florida

Living up to its name, earlier this summer Florida’s Sports Coast debuted the world’s first regulation-size modular floating pickleball court at Mirada Lagoon in San Antonio, about 30 miles north of Tampa. Designed by AquaBanas and installed in June, Pickleball Bana takes the game to the next level: on the water.

“We’re always looking to create unique and fun experiences for our guests,” says David Heaton, vice president of operations for Metro Lagoons, the owner of Mirada Lagoon, the largest man-made lagoon in the U.S. at more than 15 acres and 33 million gallons of water. “When we had the opportunity to take a unique spin on what already is such a fun and enjoyable sport, we jumped at the chance.”
