Suspect in Charlie Kirk shooting arrested at 4 a.m. Friday, records show

Tyler James Robinson, 22, was in the process of being booked at Utah County Jail by the sheriff’s office, the local agency investigating Charlie Kirk’s shooting, according to records shared with The Post. They show Robinson was arrested in Washington, Utah, at 4 a.m. local time Friday and was being booked at 7:15 a.m. in Spanish Fork, about 250 miles north. Booking records do not say which agency arrested Robinson. In the booking photo shared with The Post, Robinson appears to be wearing a “suicide jacket” the jail typically issues to at-risk inmates.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Lucas Alfred told The Post that Robinson was arrested in Washington County Friday morning. “He turned himself in to us” and sheriffs held him until other agencies picked him up, Alfred said. He said the suspect was turned over to Utah County law enforcement, Utah State Bureau of Investigation and the FBI.
