Warm For Now, But Rain and Cooler Temperatures on the Way

Tuesday will feature mostly sunny skies on the mainland and clouds and some showers in the Keys.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches on Tuesday and for the next several days.  Highs on Tuesday will be mostly in the low 80s.

Wednesday will bring increasing clouds and some showers as a front moves through.  Look for a gusty breeze along the Gulf Coast.  Wednesday’s highs will be mostly in the low 80s in the East Coast metro area and the upper-70s along the Gulf Coast and the Keys.

Thursday will feature a chilly start, with lows in the upper-40s to mid-50s on the mainland.  Then we’ll see plenty of sun and breezy conditions on the mainland and a mix of sun and clouds in the Keys.  Thursday’s highs will be in the low-70s in the East Coast metro area and the upper-60s along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.

Friday morning will be quite cool, with lows in the-50s to low-60s on the mainland.  The day will be breezy around South Florida, and we’ll see mostly sunny skies in the East Coast metro area and the Keys and lots of sun along the Gulf Coast.  Friday’s highs will be in the mid-70s.

Saturday’s forecast calls for a breezy and mostly sunny day in the East Coast metro area and the Keys, while the Gulf Coast will be sunny.  Highs on Saturday will be in the upper-70s on the mainland and mostly in the mid-70s in the Keys.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
