On June 28, Constitution Day of Ukraine, the East Coast hosted the first-ever large-scale charity run in traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirts, known as Vyshyvanka Run 2024. This event is an extension of a similar Ukrainian project that began over 10 years ago in Kyiv.
The run took place on the campus of Florida International University (FIU). It attracted 400 guests and 150 athletes who competed in 5 km and 10 km races, as well as a 200-meter kids dash. Winners received special awards made in Ukraine.

The primary sponsor of the event was the educational business project BigMoney University. The charity run was organized by Ukrainian activists from South Florida – Oleksandra Akimova and Vasyl Chebanenko. All 100% of registration fees and donations from participants and partners were directed towards the medical needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As it became known that the largest donation was made by Ukrainian businessman Evgeniy Chernyak. The funds raised have already been used to purchase a pickup truck and tactical medical supplies for the 47th Brigade, which initiated a counteroffensive in the Zaporizhzhia direction and now bravely holds the defense line and requires ongoing support.
The main partner of the run was the popular local establishment All You Need. The event also received support from Ukrainian businesses currently operating in America, including Klean Sweets, Framer’s Milk, LifeWay, GiGi flowers, Brand Mamas, Florida4Ukraine, and VladiCucina.
Patrons and organizers stated that Vyshyvanka Run will become an annual event held in various cities across the USA to support Ukrainian culture and sports.
