The Heat Goes On

Sunday features lots of hot sun with a few clouds at times and maybe a stray shower in spots as our heat wave continues.  Be sure to stay hydrated and out of the sun during the late morning to late afternoon.  Highs on Sunday will be mostly in the low-90s on the mainland — but a few suburban locations will top out in the mid-90s.  Highs in the Keys will be in the sticky upper-80s.

Monday will bring sunny skies and unseasonable heat around South Florida.  Monday’s highs will be in the low-90s on the mainland and the upper-80s in the Keys.

Tuesday will feature more hot sun with maybe a few clouds at times,  Tuesday’s highs will be in the low-90s on the mainland and the upper-80s in the Keys.

Wednesday will be yet another sizzlingly hot and sunny day.  Wednesday’s highs will be mostly in the mid-90s in the east coast metro area, in the low-90s along the Gulf Coast, and near 90 degrees in the Keys.

Faith Based Events

Thursday’s forecast calls for plenty of hot sun with clouds, showers, and maybe a storm working their way from west to east.  Highs on Thursday will be mostly in the mid-90s in the East Coast metro area, near 90 degrees along the Gulf Coast, and in the upper-80s in the Keys.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
