Sunny Skies and Chilly Mornings Ahead

Saturday features a chilly morning, followed by lots of sun and occasional clouds on a gusty breeze.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic and Gulf beaches.  Saturday’s highs will be in the mid-70s on the East Coast and in the low-70s along the Gulf Coast and the Keys.

Sunday will bring morning lows in the mid-40s to mid-50s on the mainland.  Then we’ll see sunny skies around South Florida.  Sunday’s highs will be in the low 70s.

Monday will feature morning lows in the low to mid-50s on the mainland.  The day will be sunny again, but rather cool in South Florida.  Monday’s highs will be in the low 70s again.

Tuesday morning lows on the mainland will be in the still-chilly mid to upper 50s.  Then look for a nice mix of sun and clouds in the East Coast metro area and the Keys, while the Gulf Coast will see sunny skies.  Tuesday’s highs will be mostly in the mid 70s on the mainland and in the low-70s in the Keys.

Faith Based Events

Wednesday’s forecast calls for morning lows in the milder upper 50s to low 60s on the mainland, followed by lots of sun along the Gulf coast and in the Keys and good sun with a few clouds in the east coast metro area.  Highs on Wednesday will be mostly in the upper 70s in the East Coast metro area and in the mid 70s along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
