Sunny Skies and a Steady Climb: South Florida’s Weekly Forecast

Sunday features a chilly morning, followed by plenty of sun and just a few clouds.  An elevated risk of dangerous rip currents remains at the Atlantic beaches.  Sunday’s highs will be in the low 70s on the mainland and the upper 60s in the Keys.

Monday will bring morning lows in the low to mid-50s on the mainland and the low 60s in the Keys.  The day will be sunny around South Florida as a slow warmup gets underway.  Monday’s highs will be mostly in the mid-70s along the East Coast metro area, in the low-70s along the Gulf Coast, and in the Keys.

Tuesday will feature lows in the more moderate mid to upper 50s on the mainland.  Then we’ll see lots of sun, with maybe a cloud here and there.  Tuesday’s highs will be in the mid 70s.

Wednesday will begin with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s on the mainland.  Then look for mostly sunny skies on the mainland and lots of sun in the Keys.  Wednesday’s highs will be in the upper 70s in the East Coast metro area and the mid 70s along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.

Thursday’s forecast calls for morning lows mostly in the upper 50s on the mainland, with sunny skies across South Florida.  Highs on Thursday will be in the upper 70s in the East Coast metro area and the mid-70s along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
