Saturday features lots of sun and just a few clouds around South Florida — but don’t expect much of a warmup.  A moderate risk of dangerous rip currents is in place at both the Atlantic and Gulf beaches.  Highs on Saturday will top out in the low-70s

Sunday will bring a chilly morning, with lows in the low to mid-50s on the mainland and the mainland and mid-60s in the Keys.  The day will be sunny but cool again.  Sunday’s highs will be in the mid-70s.

Monday will start with a milder morning, with lows ranging from the upper 50s to the mid-60s.  Then look for lots of sun with a few clouds at times.  Monday’s highs will be in the low 80s on the mainland and near 80 degrees in the Keys.

Tuesday will feature a nice mix of sun and clouds in the east coast metro area and the Keys, while the Gulf Coast will be sunny.  Tuesday’s highs will be in the low 80s on the mainland and near 80 degrees in the Keys.

Wednesday’s forecast calls for sunny skies around South Florida.  Highs on Wednesday will be mostly in the low-80s.

It’s quiet in the tropical Atlantic.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
