Seasonably WarmSouth Florida will see sun and clouds on a seasonably warm late January Monday. After a mild start, Monday features sun, some clouds on an ocean breeze, and a moderate risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches. A few showers will move in during the evening. Highs on Monday will be in the upper 70s.

Seasonably WarmTuesday starts with morning lows near the 70 degree mark. Then we’ll see a mix of sun and clouds give way to more clouds and some showers during the afternoon as a front approaches. We’ll see a high risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches on Tuesday and through the remainder of the work week. Tuesday’s highs will be in the upper 70s.

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy, and a few showers will hang around. Wednesday’s highs will be in the mid 70s.

Thursday will see lingering clouds and showers on a strong breeze, but there will be some sun at times. Thursday’s highs will be in the mid 70s.

Friday will be windy, with clouds and showers moving through. Highs on Friday will be in the mid 70s

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
