Wednesday features mostly sunny skies alternating with afternoon showers and storms on the mainland.  Look for good sun, some clouds at times, and maybe a shower or two in the Keys.  Highs on Wednesday will be in the upper 80s right at the Atlantic coast and in the Keys, while the rest of South Florida will reach the low 90s.

Thursday will bring some sun, more clouds, and periods of showers and storms to the east coast metro area, while the Gulf coast will see sun, clouds, and lots of showers and storms.  The Keys will be mostly sunny.  Thursday’s highs will be mostly in the low 90s on the mainland and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

Friday will feature mostly cloudy skies and periods of showers and storms around South Florida.  Friday’s highs will be mostly in the low 90s on the mainland and mostly in the upper 80s in the Keys.

Saturday will be another summer day of clouds, showers, and storms.  Saturday’s highs will be in the low 90s in the mainland and the upper 80s in the Keys.

Faith Based Events

Sunday’s forecast calls for more sun than clouds and periods of showers and storms.  Highs on Sunday will be near 90 degrees on the mainland and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

While the remnants of Chantal continue to bring heavy rain in the Northeast, the tropical Atlantic remains quiet right now.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
