Friday features more clouds than sun and plenty of showers and storms in the East Coast metro area.  The Gulf Coast will see hot sun and periods of showers and storms in the afternoon and evening, while the Keys will be on the cloudy side with periods of showers.  Highs on Friday will be near 90 degrees in the East Coast metro area and the Keys.  Highs along the Gulf Coast will top out in the low 90s — but it will feel much hotter, so stay hydrated and out of the sun.

Saturday will bring a mix of sun and periods of showers and storms, mainly in the afternoon and early evening.  Saturday’s highs will be near 90 degrees in the East Coast metro area and the Keys and in the low 90s along the Gulf coast.

Sunday will feature hot sun with a few storms in spots on the mainland.  Look for clouds, showers, and storms in the Keys.  Sunday’s highs will be in the low 90s on the mainland and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

Monday will be mostly sunny with periods of showers and storms.  Monday’s highs will be in the low 90s in the East Coast metro area and near 90 degrees along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.

Faith Based Events

Tuesday’s forecast calls for plenty of hot sun and some showers and storms.  Highs on Tuesday will be mostly in the mid-90s in the East Coast metro area and mostly in the low 90s along the Gulf Coast and the Keys.

In the tropics, Hurricane Ernesto is now on its way to Bermuda.  At midday on Thursday, Ernesto was moving north at 14 miles per hour and had maximum sustained winds of 85 miles per hour.  A hurricane warning is in effect for Bermuda.  Ernesto is forecast to strengthen somewhat before reaching Bermuda on Saturday.  Dangerous rip currents and rough surf are expected from Ernesto along the U.S. east coast and into the Bahamas.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
