Friday features steamy sun and periods of showers and storms.  Look for morning storms and plenty of afternoon showers, while the Gulf Coast will see some storms throughout the day.  Highs on Friday will be mostly in the low 90s, with a few suburban and inland locations reaching the mid-90s.  But it will feel well over 100 degrees everywhere, so stay hydrated and out of the sun.

In the tropics, Debby came ashore in South Carolina as a tropical storm on Thursday morning.  It weakened to a depression over North Carolina.  Debby will move quickly northward, dropping heavy rain from North Carolina to Maine, before dissipating over eastern Canada this weekend.
Elsewhere, a wave in the eastern Atlantic currently has a low chance of development as it moves in the direction of the Lesser Antilles.  But conditions are likely to be favorable for development after that.  Computer models indicate this feature could be in the general vicinity of the Bahamas in about a week. It’s too early to tell what the track of this system will be, but we’ll keep a close eye on it.
