Tropics forecast below image
In the tropics, the disturbance we’ve been watching now has a high chance of becoming a depression once it moves through Cuba and into the eastern Gulf of Mexico this weekend.  The closest approach to South Florida’s Gulf coast is expected on Sunday.  This feature is then forecast to move into the northern portion of the Florida peninsula early in the week before entering the Atlantic.  We’ll continue to watch this situation closely.
