Thursday features clouds, showers, and storms around South Florida.  Expect periods of heavy rain.  Localized flooding is possible, especially in low-lying portions of the east coast metro area.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches.  Highs on Thursday will be mostly in the mid 80s on the mainland and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

Friday will bring a morning mix of sun, clouds, and maybe a storm to the East Coast metro area, but plenty of showers and storms will develop in the afternoon.  Additional rain will increase the chance of localized flooding in the East Coast metro area.  The Gulf Coast will see morning showers and afternoon storms, while the Keys will see lots of clouds and periods of showers.  Friday’s highs will be mostly in the low 90s in the East Coast metro area and in the upper 80s along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.

Saturday will feature lots of sun and a few clouds in the morning in the east coast metro area, but showers and storms will be back in the afternoon.  The Gulf coast will be mostly sunny with mainly afternoon and early evening showers and storms.  Look for clouds, showers, and storms in the Keys.  Saturday’s highs will be mostly in the low 90s in the east coast metro area, near 90 degrees along the Gulf coast, and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

Sunday will be mostly sunny with periods of showers and storms on the mainland.  Look for most of the showers and storms in the afternoon in the east coast metro area, while the Gulf coast can expect passing showers and a few storms throughout the day.  The Keys will see plenty of clouds and a few showers.  Sunday’s highs will be in the low 90s on the mainland and the upper 80s in the Keys.

Faith Based Events

Monday’s forecast calls for a mix of sun, clouds, showers, and storms on the mainland, while clouds, showers, and storms will be on tap for the Keys.  Highs on Monday will be near 90 degrees in the east coast metro area, in the low 90s along the Gulf coast, and in the upper 80s in the Keys.

In the tropics, we’re tracking Tropical Storm Gabrielle (which had been Tropical Depression # 7 early Wednesday). On Wednesday evening, Gabrielle was about 990 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands and was moving northwest at 14 miles per hour.  Maximum sustained winds were 50 miles per hour at that time. Gabrielle is forecast to reach hurricane strength this weekend and track well east of the Bahamas.
We’re also watching a wave in the eastern Atlantic near the Cabo Verde Islands. This wave has a low chance of development during the next several days, but it will bring heavy rain to the region through Thursday.  Finally, another wave is forecast to emerge from the African coast on Friday.  That wave has a low chance of development as it moves to the west-northwest during the next several days.
