Sunday features good sun and a few clouds at times throughout South Florida.  A moderate risk of dangerous rip currents remains along the Palm Beach County coast.  Sunday’s highs will be in the low-80s on the mainland and the upper-70s in the Keys.

Monday will bring morning lows in the mid to upper-60s on the mainland.  The East Coast metro area will be breezy and mostly sunny, while the Gulf Coast will see mostly sunny skies with a few clouds and a gusty breeze.  Look for lots of sun in the Keys.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches.  Monday’s highs will be mostly in the low-80s on the mainland and in the upper-70s in the Keys.

Tuesday will feature mostly sunny skies in the East Coast metro area and the Keys.  The Gulf Coast will see lots of sun.  Look for a gusty breeze in the East Coast metro area and an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches.  Tuesday’s highs will be near 80 degrees in the East Coast metro area and the Keys and in the low 80s along the Gulf Coast.

Wednesday will see sunny skies across South Florida, and the east coast metro area will also see gusty winds.  Christmas Eve will see clear skies and seasonably comfortable temperatures in the 60s — great weather for outdoor gatherings and Santa’s annual visit to South Florida.  Wednesday’s highs will be near 80 in the upper 70s in the East Coast metro area and the Keys and near 80 degrees along the Gulf Coast.

The Christmas Day forecast calls for plenty of sun, a few clouds, and the gift of pleasant weather for South Florida.  Highs on Thursday will be near 80 degrees on the mainland and in the upper-70s in the Keys.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
