Tuesday features mostly sunny skies with breezy conditions in the East Coast metro area and a gusty breeze along the Gulf Coast.  The east coast metro area will see a few showers in spots.  A high risk of dangerous rip currents remains at the Atlantic beaches until Tuesday evening.  Highs on Tuesday will be mostly in the mid-80s.

Wednesday will bring breezy conditions, a mix of sun and clouds, and a few showers to the East Coast metro area.  The Gulf Coast will be sunny.  Wednesday’s highs will be in the mid-80s on the mainland and mostly in the low 80s in the Keys.

Thursday will feature mostly sunny skies and a few showers in the East Coast metro area. Look for lots of sun along the Gulf coast. Thursday’s highs will be in the mid-80s on the mainland and mostly in the low 80s in the Keys.

Friday will see good sun and a few clouds and showers in the East Coast metro area, while the Gulf Coast will be sunny again. Friday’s highs will be in the mid-80s.

Faith Based Events

Saturday’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies around South Florida.  Look for a few showers in spots in the east coast metro area.  Highs on Saturday will be in the mid-80s on the mainland and mostly in the low 80s in the Keys.

In the tropics, Tropical Storm Oscar continued to bring very heavy rain as it lingered over eastern Cuba on Monday.  At 5 pm Monday, Oscar had maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour and was moving north-northwest at 7 miles per hour.  A tropical storm warning is now in effect for the central Bahamas as well as the southeastern Bahamas.  A turn to the northeast is forecast, and Oscar is likely to pass near Bermuda before being absorbed by an area of low pressure on Thursday.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
