Melania Trump Unveils White House Christmas Décor Under “Home Is Where the Heart Is” (Video)

In a festive ceremony on Monday, First Lady Melania Trump revealed the 2025 White House holiday décor under the theme “Home Is Where the Heart Is,” blending patriotic homage, family-inspired touches, and symbolic tributes.

Stepping into Congress’s historic residence, visitors are greeted by more than 50 Christmas trees, 75 wreaths, 25,000 feet of ribbon, and 10,000 blue butterflies — a striking visual meant to evoke warmth, unity, and “the enduring American spirit.”

Because the East Wing was demolished this fall for a new presidential ballroom, the official White House Christmas tree now stands in the Blue Room. It pays tribute to Gold Star families who lost loved ones in military service — decorated with ornaments representing each state’s official bird and flower.

Inside, each room carries its own sub‑theme: in the East Room, red, white and blue decorations and eagle-topped trees mark the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.  The Green Room takes a playful turn with LEGO portraits of Presidents George Washington and Donald Trump — each built from over 6,000 pieces — creating a “Family Fun” vibe for holiday visitors.

Perhaps the most evocative display is the Red Room, dubbed the “Fostering the Future Red Room,” where thousands of vibrant blue butterflies represent transformation and hope — a nod to Melania Trump’s signature child‑welfare initiative, Be Best, and her advocacy for foster‑care youth.

Completing the festive tableau is a 120‑pound gingerbread replica of the White House in the State Dining Room, a taste of nostalgia and craftsmanship meant to reflect the beauty and warmth of home.

With public tours scheduled to resume this week on a modified route due to ongoing construction, holiday visitors can expect a reimagination of White House tradition — one that blends patriotism, family, remembrance, and hope under a unifying message: home is not just where we live, but where our hearts are.
