
Tuesday features plenty of hot sun alternating with periods of showers and storms. Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents along the Palm Beach County coast and a gusty breeze in the east coast metro area. Highs on Tuesday will be mostly in the mid-90s in the East Coast metro area and in the low 90s along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys — but it will feel about 10 degrees hotter, so stay hydrated and out of the sun.
Wednesday will bring a mix of sun and storms in the morning, followed by plenty of showers in the afternoon and evening. Wednesday’s highs will be mostly in the mid-90s in the East Coast metro area and mostly in the low 90s along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.
Thursday will feature mostly sunny skies and periods of storms. Showers will dominate the afternoon and evening hours. Look for clouds and showers in the Keys. Thursday’s highs will be mostly in the low 90s.
Friday will see sun and storms in the morning, with showers returning in the afternoon and lingering into the early evening. Friday’s highs will be in the low 90s.
Saturday’s forecast calls for some sun and clouds with plenty of showers and a few storms. Heavy rain is possible, especially along the Gulf Coast. Highs on Saturday will be in the low 90s on the mainland and near 90 degrees in the Keys.
In the tropics, Ernesto continues to create hazardous surf conditions and dangerous rip currents along the eastern U.S. and Canadian coasts. Early Monday evening, Ernesto was a hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 90 miles per hour, but some weakening is expected prior to the system becoming extratropical as it raced to the northeast at 26 miles per hour. Ernesto is forecast to dissipate in the cold waters of the northern Atlantic in a day or so.
