The suspects used their businesses as part of the criminal enterprise buying and selling approximately $2 million worth of stolen engines between April 2014 and November 2015.

Investigators believe Ramos sold the stolen engines to Hondcub Enterprises, a business owned by Munoz and Parra. The engines were resold to Modified Engine Rebuilders, a business owned by D’Aleo Jr. D’Aleo Jr. sold the stolen engines to out-of-state businesses. Queries were never done on engine serial numbers to determine the source of the engines, even after a customer complained that an engine he purchased was stolen.

Ramos, Munoz and Para were booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and D’Aleo was booked into the Broward County Jail.  Coral Springs, Medley and Hialeah Gardens Police Departments assisted with the arrests.

The case is being prosecuted by Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Office of Statewide Prosecution. The investigation is on-going.
