Donald Trump Event Speech Could Cost Fort Laud. State Rep. George Moraitis

Republican State Rep. George Moraitis

Pity poor Republican state Rep. George Moraitis.

Moraitis is so desperate to win his re-election that he spoke at the Donald J. Trump rally in Sunrise.  He had everything to lose and nothing to win by his embrace of the controversial candidate.

He must believe cozying up to Trump shores up support among the GOP voters in Florida House District 93.

Wrong.

Faith Based Events

Moraitis’ support of Trump could backfire in November against Democratic Ken Keechl.

The east Broward district indeed leans Republican on paper. It has roughly 43,000 registered Republicans compared to 41,000 Democrats and 30,000 independents.  The bulk of these voters, however, are moderate — the kind who abhor Trump.

Yes, there are people who hate Hillary Clinton more. They would have supported Moraitis anyway.

Moraitis can only hope that a majority of District 93 voters are tired of Keechl, who has run losing races for Broward County Commission more than once.
