Breezy With East Coast Showers and Storms

Monday features breezy conditions around South Florida.  The East Coast metro area will see sun and clouds, with a few morning storms, followed by showers in the afternoon.  The Gulf Coast will see lots of sun, and the Keys will be mostly sunny.  A high risk of dangerous rip currents is in place at the Atlantic beaches through Thursday evening.  Monday’s high will be mainly in the mid-70s.

Tuesday will bring morning lows in the upper-50s to mid-60s on the mainland.  The day will be breezy with a mix of sun and clouds in the East Coast metro area.  The Gulf Coast and the Keys will see plenty of sun and a few clouds.  A high risk of dangerous rip currents will continue at the Atlantic beaches.  Tuesday’s highs will be mainly in the mid-70s in the East Coast metro area and in the upper-70s along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.

Wednesday will feature morning lows in the low- to mid-60s on the mainland, followed by mostly sunny skies around South Florida.  The East Coast metro area will see a gusty breeze along with a high risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches.  Wednesday’s highs will be in the upper-70s.

Thursday will be a mostly sunny and seasonable day on the mainland, but look for plenty of clouds and some showers in the Keys.  Thursday’s high will be mainly in the low-80s on the mainland and near 80 degrees in the Keys.

Faith Based Events

Friday’s forecast calls for a mild morning, followed by more clouds than sun in the East Coast metro area, and a nice mix of sun and clouds across the Gulf Coast and the Keys.  Highs on Friday will be mainly in the low-80s on the mainland and in the upper 70s in the Keys.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
