Best Buy is ramping up its holiday shopping strategy by launching an early promotion push that starts on Halloween. The retailer said it will debut weekly doorbuster deals beginning Oct. 31 and continuing every Friday through the season.
In addition to the weekly discounts, Best Buy is widening its product assortment—adding ten times more items than it did last year—and will kick off a nine-day version of its Black Friday sale starting Nov. 20. The deals will span tech categories like computing, gaming, home theater and wearables, and will be available online, through the app and in stores. Customers buying gifts from Oct. 31 through Dec. 31 will benefit from an extended return policy through Jan. 15.
With revenue growth already showing signs of improvement earlier this year, Best Buy’s strategy is clear: make the holiday shopping season longer, bigger and more flexible. CEO Jason Bonfig said the move is designed for shoppers who want to “shop in your costume, or wait until Black Friday”—either way, Best Buy’s ready.
