Ben’s Original is recalling a limited number of rice products sold throughout the U.S., the Food and Drug Administration announced Tuesday.

Certain batches of Ben’s Original Ready Rice may have small, naturally occurring stones in the products, which pose the risk of oral or digestive tract injury if consumed, the company said.

How to Identify the Recalled Rice

The recall is limited to certain batch codes and best-by dates of Ben’s Original Long Grain White, Whole Grain Brown, and Long Grain & Wild Ready Rice products.1

Other retailers may have also carried the rice products, which were distributed by Associated Grocers, C&S, and Dot Foods from August through September.

Reason for the Recall

Some batches of the recalled rice products may contain small, naturally occurring stones from the rice farm, the company said.

No illnesses or injuries have been reported, but the small stones pose the risk of oral or digestive tract injury if they’re consumed.

No other Ben’s Original products are affected by the current recall.

What You Should Do

If you believe you’ve purchased any of the recalled rice products, do not eat them.

You can contact Ben’s Original Consumer Care to initiate a return by calling 1-800-548-6253 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST) Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (CST) Saturday and Sunday.
