Andrea Jaeger Talks with Broadcaster & Mental Health Advocate Patrick McEnroe

Little Star Light Podcast hosts Andrea Jaeger and Adriana Solarova, in episode 37, spoke with Patrick McEnroe, a former tennis player with numerous accolades and a familiar commentator for ESPN and CNN. McEnroe, who earned the title of “Pocket Patrick” for his love of people and helping them enjoy life to the fullest, shares some insights for you to “pull out of your pocket” whenever you need assistance, including when facing a difficult situation. As simple as it may sound, this involves taking the time to slow down, breathe, and take the time to listen to your thoughts. 

A Walk Down Memory Lane 

Andrea and Patrick also reminisced about their time at the US Open and discussed the upcoming US Open Tennis Championship and his picks for potential trophy holders. They remembered the United States Tennis Association (USTA) leaders, including Stacey Allaster, who was named US Open Tournament Director in 2020, the first time a woman received this prestigious position in the event’s 140-year history; Anne Marie Martin, whose work for the USTA and US Open spans decades; and Roy Fugazy who is a legend in heading up US Open transportation for decades. 

Little Star Foundation’s NYC Program to Attend the US Open

These three leaders reached out to Andrea to help the Little Star Foundation, which will have children with cancer attending the US Open, their parents, and siblings too as part of its New York City program. Andrea expressed gratitude for the leaders’ kindness in joining the Little Star Foundation in making “time of their life” experiences for children with cancer and their families. 

Children to Participate in Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day and an Exclusive Event at FAO Schwarz 

Little Star Foundation’s NYC Program will include Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day, and additionally a special, exclusive event at FAO Schwarz for 40 in attendance. Additionally, events and programs benefiting more than 100 will occur in NYC, thanks to the generosity of people who have donated to the Little Star Foundation. 

Family to Visit McEnroe at his ESPN Studio at the US Open

Patrick also extended an invitation on the episode for a family from Little Star Foundation’s NYC program to visit his ESPN studio at the US Open. He is eager to help bring life-changing moments and long-term care to children with cancer and their families. 

Making the World a Brighter Place for Children

Andrea also invites everyone to join in spirit, heart, donation, and prayer to help the children and families, sharing the difference Little Star Foundation has made in enabling a child to be a child again.
