
The band — Tyler (vocals), Joe Perry (guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass), Joey Kramer (drums) and Brad Whitford (guitar) — had a planned farewell tour later in the year that had been postponed from September because Tyler was injured before the run of shows concluded. Tickets will be refunded, the statement said.
The group first formed in 1970 and released a string of hits including “Dream On,” “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” and “Walk This Way,” the latter later rereleased with Run-DMC. They are among the best-selling artists in U.S. history for albums sold.
